Town's unbeaten pre-season contines against Cardiff
RESULT: Swindon Town 0 Cardiff City 0
New signing Jonathan Douglas captained a Swindon side that included a number of squad players who were looking for some much needed match practice before the start of the new season.
Likewise, Dave Jones fielded a mixture of first team a
nd squad players with the under-fire striker Ross McCormack the star attraction – although his first few touches were greeted with a chorus of Boos from the City fans.
Town probably just edged the game on chances with both Billy Paynter and Michael Timlin hitting the woodwork in the first half. With just two more games before the big kick-off manager Danny Wilson declared himself ‘delighted’ with the clean sheet against one of the Championship’s top strikes forces.
With the visit of West Brom and the return of Simon Cox on Tuesday night no doubt Wilson will also be looking to name a stronger side as he steps up his preparations for the start of the season.
